Today is our six year anniversary. We spent the better part of the day hiking on and around Volcán Masaya, just outside of Masaya, Nicaragua. One of the most active volcanos in Central America, it is billowing out sulfur fumes from the lava vents deep within the crater. We stood on the very edge, peering into the depths of the earth, listening. The sound of the ongoing eruption was disquieting, and reminded us of just how insignificant we all are to the comings and goings of the Earth.
